Network 10 have an opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic digital journalist/reporter to join the 10 daily Lifestyle team. Weâ€™re looking for an experienced reporter bursting with creativity and drive to source, brainstorm, curate and produce high quality stories around whatâ€™s trending and topical in the lifestyle and social space. From food, fashion, beauty to health, dating, and travel - theyâ€™ll comfortably cover them all, putting their own unique editorial spin on every story, supporting 10 dailyâ€™s overall style, tone and strategy.
The successful candidate will have experience using social media platforms to source and distribute content to engage audiences. They will have an eye for detail and excellent editorial judgment, with a knack for creating interesting, engaging, shareable stories or more in-depth lifestyle feature pieces. In addition, they should have a flair for crafting irresistible headlines and packaging engaging content using images, galleries and video.
Based in Sydney, the role will report into the Lifestyle editor, working closely with the 10 daily editorial and Ten and broadcast teams. The role will operate on a rotating seven-day roster and some out of hours work may be required. Required qualifications: The successful candidate will have 2 yearsâ€™ journalism experience, preferably within the lifestyle space Strong writer with an excellent news judgement Demonstrated experience writing clean, accurate copy to deadline Confident interviewing skills, and experience covering events â€“ Oscars, Emmys etc Familiarity with digital analytics platforms Experience in writing to and packaging compelling video clips within content Solid understanding of legal aspects of journalism A passion for new media including mobile and video Skills and abilities Excellent organisational and time management skills Creative and collaborative thinker Performance driven Understanding of SEO best practice and CMS and EDM tools Photography and Photoshop skills, or similar image editing software Education qualifications Tertiary degree in media, journalism or communications or equivalent Additional requirements Flexibility to work outside regular office hours, including early mornings, late nights or on weekend when required.
