Senior Medical Officer (Procedural Obstetrics)



Rural and Remote Services - Atherton Remuneration value up to $391 448 p.a. (L24-L25) or Remuneration value up to $369 811 p.

a. (L18 – L23) or Remuneration value up to $325 572 p.a.

(L13 – L18), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.

6 weeks p.a., plus private practice arrangements.

Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy. Duties/Abilities: Provide high quality clinical care to hospital in-patients and patients at rural clinics. Assist the Medical Superintendent in the development of safe medical practice and optimising clinical skills for medical and nursing staff.

The Senior Medical Officer reports to the Medical Superintendent, Atherton Hospital. Junior Medical Staff, although reporting to the Medical Superintendent also report on clinical matters to the Senior Medical Officer who may be supervising the area in which the junior staff are working. It is a condition of employment for the employee in this role to be, and remain, vaccinated against or non-susceptible to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs): Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox) and Pertussis (whooping cough) and Hepatitis B .
