Underground Mining Shift Supervisor - NSW
Underground Shift Supervisor Our client is a large Mining Contractor with lucrative projects currently underway. Reports to: Superintendent Direct reports Rostered mining team including production drillers, truck and loader operators, jumbo operators, sandfill, service crew and charging operations. Duties Manage and report safety issues Liaise with the Maintenance Team to request and prioritise service for equipment breakdowns and faults Co-ordinate and achieve or exceed the weekâ€™s scheduled targets for production drilling and production Co-ordinate and achieve the weekâ€™s scheduled targets for development, rehab and service crew work. Order and control stores used in the operational cycle Liaise with other Supervisors and cross-personnel within the underground and surface operations.
Ensure mine development headings are being developed in accordance with site standards. Ensure stoping operations are conducted in accordance with company procedures including: working at stope brows, teleremote instructions etc. Particular emphasis should be placed on dust management.
Monitor costs and identify ways of making them transparent to the workforce Management of vertical openings such as waste tips and dumpholes in accordance with company procedures. Appropriate void management strategies are in place for all activities and a digout plan is completed for all higher risk tasks. Wastage of time and material resources is minimised.
Qualifications and Requirements 5 Years Underground Mining Experience Previous Supervisory Experience Accident Investigation skills Safety Interaction Training Senior First Aid Beginner to intermediate level of Computer Literacy with ability to use site packages such as the Vault, Maximo and ProdFx reporting systems and tablet, as well as Microsoft Packages ability to interpret complex mine plans, measure heading advances, read a kestrel ventilation device and calculate ventilation flows, complete an incident investigation etc., check magazine stock balances. Current NSW drivers license Frontline Management Training Unsupervised Explosives Handling License Will need to attain a NSW Underground Supervisor Certificate of Competency prior to 01 February 2018, a Certificate iv in Metalliferous Mining Operations (underground) including the mandated electives, and a current Provide First Aid certificate are required prerequisites in order to sit the exam for a CoC.
