Practice in Biloela looking for a General Practitioner. The medical centre operates by appointment only, standard consultations are 15 minutes and longer consultations are available on request. This is a private billing practice and payment is required at the time of consultation.
Medicare rebates apply. After hours and emergencies are referred to the Biloela Hospital. Biloela is the epicentre of the Banana Shire and is a growing rural town with a very diverse agricultural industry including cotton, sorghum, wheat, herbs and spices.
The cattle industry is thriving with the largest number of cattle of any shire in Queensland. Biloela came into being only in 1924 as an agricultural centre. Coal was first mined in the 1940s but was transported to Gladstone.
A short 12 kilometre drive from Biloela is Lake Callide - known mostly for its fishing, red-claw and bird life, camping is also available along the lake, which offers toilets, picnic facilities and a playground.
