Mental Health Occupational Therapist



Back on Track uses Occupational Therapists in Mental Health to improve a client's function by assisting them to increase their productivity and capacity through graded tasks and activities. Back on Track includes cognitive and behavioural strategies and provides in-home psychosocial support. Back on Track is widely recognised and utilised in State and Commonwealth workers compensation and rehabilitation, income protection, NDIS, other insurance jurisdictions and employee assistance programs.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to appoint an experienced therapist in Melbourne to service the VIC area. You will be fully trained in our service model and receive a high level of administration and leadership support. www. Requirements: Undertake initial assessment of functional ability.

Use of the Model of Human Occupation assessment tools. Experience in a mental health environment with complex cases. Ability to identify barriers to a client's functioning and develop collaborative strategies to overcome these barriers.

Provide interventions to assist clients to overcome deficits with occupational function. Develop rehabilitation plans and work conditioning programs in consultation with the client and relevant key parties. Provide regular written reports to doctors and referrers.

Knowledge and experience with CBT strategies and techniques in treatment. Experience providing psycho-education to clients. Experience with comprehensive report writing.

Ability to work autonomously. Initiative required. Use of own vehicle.

Qualifications: Registration with the Occupational Therapy Association Board. (desirable) Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. (essential) Medicare registered or eligible for Medicare registration under a supervision program.
