The company operates a large grain handling facility and provides logistics, storage and grain cleaning / drying services. Furthermore with a modern fleet of Mack prime movers, this company also offers bulk transport of grain, fertiliser, gypsum and manure covering northern NSW, southern QLD and transport into and out of Brisbane.
The fleet is modern, well maintained and the company is a member of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme. Position The Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic will be responsible for preparing all prime movers and machinery for timely operation. Working directly with the Workshop Manager, the Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic will assist in completing the preventative maintenance and day-to-day servicing to ensure efficient and safe operation of the prime movers, machinery and plant at all times.
Key Responsibilities Carry out repairs and maintenance of machinery and plant in an efficient and effective manner Assist in the development of a preventative maintenance program for prime movers, machinery, plant and equipment Assist in the management of inventory of parts in the workshop to maximise the efficient running of the business Ensure the maintenance records for fleet are accurate and up-to-date Monitor fleet fuel / oil consumption regularly, identify issues and rectify defects as required Skills and Experience Experience in a hands-on maintenance role with trucks, prime movers and trailers Experience with agricultural used in broadacre cropping operations would be favourable Attention to detail Ability to identify potential problems and find effective solutions Qualifications A recognised diesel mechanical trade certificate or candidates currently completing a 4th year of an apprenticeship will be considered A current MC Drivers Licence is desirable Ability to supply own tools is essential (tool allowance provided) Remuneration An attractive remuneration package, will be negotiated to reflect skills and experience.
