Description As a Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will be: Managing the end-to-end processing of the fortnightly payroll for 1,500 to 1,800 employees; Dealing with pay queries and providing support and advice to employees and management; Interpreting award and policy requirements and liaising with Human resources, management and staff; Overseeing the processing of terminations, maternity leave & other leave ensuring compliance with legislative and award requirements; Working with project teams and contributing to the proposed implementation of SAP Payroll and the transition from Chris21; Understanding and documenting of current systems and processes; Working in a Team environment to achieve deadlines and assisting with data entry and other functions as required to ensure service standards are maintained and deadlines achieved; Ensuring that taxation, superannuation contributions and other payments are paid on a timely basis, in accordance with legislative, award and policy requirements; Undertake month-end and year-end payroll functions including reconciling payroll reports with General Ledger records; and Managing compliance with the ATO's Single Touch Payroll requirements. Profile To be successful, essentially you will have: Experience as a Payroll Manager for a medium to large organisation with considerable experience in end-to-end payroll processes and managing a Payroll Team; Extensive experience in the interpretation and application of legislation including Awards and Annual Leave, Long Service Leave, Superannuation and PAYG legislation and regulations and with industrial relations practices and in providing guidance and advice; Experience in documenting systems processes and procedures; A thorough working knowledge of administration principles associated with remuneration, taxation and packaging; Strong Systems knowledge and experience - Chris 21 and/or SAP experience (or similar) would be highly advantageous; Proficient data entry capabilities with a high level of accuracy; Excellent customer service, people & communication skills (written & verbal); Capable of working as part of a team and independently as required; Attention to detail & accuracy, well organised and efficient; Duties will be varied so must be willing to be hands on as required and contribute at all levels; Intermediate level Microsoft excel skills; Understanding and experience in relation to the ATO's Single Touch Payroll processes and requirements; and Experience developing systems, process, policy and procedural documentation and guides.
