It seeks to widen the pool of those entering politics, attracting new and diverse talent.
It understands that politicians from all sides of politics operate in an increasingly complex environment and it has identified an opportunity to build their capability through impact oriented and outcome focused professional development. A partnership between the Susan McKinnon Foundation and Monash University, the McKinnon Institute is a newly established institute seeking its inaugural Chief Executive Officer to: Provide strong strategic leadership to realise the mission of the McKinnon Institute. Position the McKinnon Institute as a trusted partner to parliament, Parties and the community.
Oversee the development and delivery of highly regarded, impactful professional development programs. Develop the Institute as a forward-thinking and agile organisation through effective staff leadership and operational management. We are seeking a customer-orientated senior executive with extensive experience within a complex and evolving management environment.
An individual who builds quality, in-demand products through a high performance and customer focused culture; demonstrates a sympathetic, empathetic and open approach; and has the ability to build high levels of credibility within the sector. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is the ability to negotiate and consult on sensitive issues with a diverse range of stakeholders. The role will be based in Melbourne.
