The Position St John of God Geelong Hospital has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the friendly and dynamic team in our Cardiac Care Unit . You will be responsible for improving and maintaining standards, developing solutions and delivering outcomes consistent with service and organisational imperatives and targets. This position is being offered on a permanent full term or part time basis with contracted hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Our state-of-the art refurbished sixteen (16) bed Cardiac Care Unit offers the following services: Echocardiography - transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography and 3D imaging Cardioversion Cardiac nuclear medicine imaging CT coronary angiography (CTCA) Cardiac catheterisation and coronary angiography Percutaneous coronary interventions and stenting (PCI) Post-cardiac surgery care - including coronary bypass grafting, mitral/pulmonary valve replacement and closure of the left atrial appendage Cardiac electrophysiology (EP) services, including diagnostic EP, pacemaker and automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) insertion, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) and ablation of arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation Heart failure management Pulmonary hypertension management The successful candidate will have: A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of 3 yearsâ€™ post registration experience in area of specialty; or a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience in the area of specialty with a post-basic qualification.
Demonstrated clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to work with and coach others to create individual growth and development in line with organisational needs. Well-developed skills in communication, including conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary health care environment. Competent computer skills including excel, Microsoft Office and Word. A knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards, including Nurses Act, Code of Conduct, Occupational Safety & Health, Equal Employment Opportunity.
