Everything we do is focused on sustainable employment outcomes for young people in a strengths based and outcome focused business model. As the Employment Youth Worker , you will work with young people in pre-employment and group based activities as well as post placement mentoring. Using a client centred strengths based case management model you will help participants overcome non vocational challenges to employment with the aim of assisting them to gain and sustain employment.
This can include crisis intervention, advocating for participants; referral for specialist assistance, developing individual case plans and employment case management, as well as assistance with practical supports. You will be learning how to do job plans, capability assessments and JSCIâ€™s. Due to the immediate requirements for this role, you will need to have the relevant experience and qualifications and be prepared to hit the ground running.
Those with Employment Services backgrounds will be highly regarded. It is a requirement of this role to work across the Sydney Cluster servicing Blacktown (Base) and Mt Druitt. About you You will have a Bachelor degree, or grad diploma in Allied Health, Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, Counselling or other Allied health degree/grad diploma (this is a funding requirement), and experience in the provision of case work services for highly disadvantaged young people.
You will have proven ability to build rapport with and motivate young people; along with a good understanding of the local labour market, barriers to employment and underlying issues faced by disadvantaged young people. You will need to demonstrate innovation, creativity and flexibility in your approach. You will have strong networking skills and proven capacity to achieve effective outcomes for disadvantaged and at risk youth.
You will have high level communication and administrative skills, including program and workshop delivery skills. You will need to be comfortable working in an outcome focussed environment, with targets around employment outcomes. Above all, you need to be passionate about helping vulnerable young....
