About the Department The Palliative Care in-patient Unit 6th floor, is a 20 bed unit specialising in the care of patients with life limiting illness who may also have multiple medical co-morbidities, admitted mainly for either end of life care or symptoms management, and occasional respite. Care and discharge planning is provided by an inter-disciplinary team. About the Role An opportunity currently exists for Grade 2 Registered Nurses to join the palliative care team on a part time permanent basis.
As a Grade 2 Registered Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality patient care within a supportive team environment. Classification for this position will be YP3 - YP10 ($65,275 - $87,282 per annum pro rata) Duties Demonstrate a Person Care Approach in all aspects of daily nursing practice Identify patient risks, such as skin integrity, falls, medication and respond appropriately for a positive outcome including VHIMS, documentation, corrective actions Liaise with patient, patientâ€™s family, medical and ancillary staff as required or requested Actively participate and contribute to all quality improvements including monthly audits Act as a role model and supports junior staff in all clinical aspects Qualifications, Skills and Experience Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with AHPRA registration Demonstrated competent clinical nursing skills Demonstrated ability to facilitate team outcomes in an multi-disciplinary environment Motivated and professional with exceptional communication and time management skills Experience in Palliative Care Nursing would be highly desirable Benefits Salary packaging Employee Assistance Program Staff Car Park Application Please attach a resume and cover letter to your application Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged.
