Project Manager - Heritage Melbourne Artefact
Amazing opportunity for a Project Manager to work on a Heritage-listed, iconic Melbourne artefact. Your New Company This exciting Victorian, State Government organisation provide the community with year-round entertainment, and a fantastic range of services to people of all ages. Within their large Capital Projects team, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Project Manager to join on a 3 year, fixed-term contract, to oversee the delivery of the works.
Your New Role The nature of this interesting position has history that is deeply embedded in Melbourne and Australian culture, and will involve the delivery of a highly-technical capital works project. End-to-end project management responsibilities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of works (scoping of works, feasibility studies, design reviews, budgeting, tender process, overseeing construction, defect/liability period etc). Develop and maintain project schedules and budget tracking documentation - providing regular reports and updates throughout the process.
Manage contractors, internal staff, volunteers and cultivate a collaborative working environment. Constant liaison and management of internal and external stakeholders absolutely key - highly political project. Ensuring the development and management of the OHS plan for the project.
What You'll Need to Succeed A tertiary qualification in a relevant industry (Engineering/Architecture). Demonstrated experience delivering technical, complex capital works projects from end-to-end and an understanding of Project Management principles. High level of experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders, ideally on politically sensitive community projects.
History of delivering capital works projects on Heritage listed artefacts, buildings or sites. Excellent communication skills and ability to act in a diplomatic manner, making important decisions within short-time frames. Ability to manage contractors, manufacturers, consultants, and engineering design services.
National Police check and Australian driver's license are required. You will need to complete the Key Selection Criteria associated with the role. What You'll Get in Return Chance to work on an incredibly rare and interesting project.
