Business Development Director - Internal Client Services

The National Sales & Pursuits team are responsible for working with teams to identify, pursue and win targeted opportunities with our most important clients across our most important sectors.

About the role: In this national role you will set the strategy and lead a small team to grow Deloitte’s number and size of clients across certain markets. You will work with Partners and teams across our Australian offices to execute on the business development strategy, and identify, prioritise and resource the firm’s most strategically important pursuits and high growth potential clients. No two days are the same as you collaborate with your client segment leaders whilst working with teams across various business units, geographies, industries and markets.

You will assemble cross business unit teams and coach them on pursuit and growth strategies for their clients, with a key outcome being above average revenue growth and a strong pipeline of future work. You will also undertake the role of bid coach on the largest and most strategically important opportunities. This Director level role will play an important role in combining strategic thinking with excellence in delivering and driving business development programs, including bespoke sales campaigns for high growth services and offerings.

You will work alongside senior stakeholders to shape and execute the pursuit strategy across some of Deloitte’s largest sectors and market segments, including the development of sales programs, the running of high growth potential client incubator programs, the building of pursuit teams, identification of growth opportunities and the pursuit of large-scale engagements. Enough about us, let’s talk about you: To be successful in this role you must be an experienced and confident business development professional with proven experience in enterprise level sales and a strong desire to drive continued growth at the world’s largest professional services firm. You must possess an excellent understanding of sales process, sales coaching and the ability to engage with and influence senior leadership and other stakeholders.

You must also have the ability to manage senior stakeholders in a large complex environment. The ideal candidate will take great satisfaction in helping others succeed and win. You will also have: Excellent interpersonal skills exemplified in managing complex interactions with internal stakeholders.

The ability to influence and coach senior stakeholders to achieve an optimum outcome for the firm. Significant strategy and sales workshop and planning facilitation experience Discipline to work independently as well as contributing to the team’s culture and progression.
