Supply Chain and Distribution Manager

We are currently recruiting a Supply Chain and Distribution Manager to join our Foodbuy team, based at our head office in Sydney.
This role is responsible for managing a supply chain to develop, improve and fulfil organisational and functional objectives for Compass Supply Chain. The Manager provides detailed supporting analysis to quantify cost savings opportunities as well as market leading product distribution and delivery performance. The key benefit of this role is the management of the activities of the broader supply chain team and direct support provided to the GM and ED, as well as internal and external customers You will have worked in a procurement role and have a mature understanding of supplier management and relationships, eProcurement platforms.
Key Duties Manage and develop distribution strategies. Leadership and development of a team within the supply chain function. Oversee the assembly of industry analysis to create commercial understanding of the market place & provide proactive insight to long term potential sourcing, inventory and distribution opportunities for Compass Group.
Approve and execute best practice contract negotiations with the supply base to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements. Engage and consult stakeholders from across the business to meet their requirements for goods and transportation to various locations throughout the country. Prepare and run sourcing events including RFQ/RFP/RFI, online auction, collaborative sourcing, multi-event negotiations, etc.
Use e-tendering including E Reverse Auctions to ensure best market value Ensure new suppliers and manufacturers are set up in line with company and supply chain policy and have appropriate third-party accreditation and insurances. Identifying and determining detailed costs associated with the Products purchased. Build sourcing strategies that enable compass to optimise its buying power across relevant markets and deliver a range of products which are negotiated to the lowest net level to maximise business profitability and customer satisfaction Conduct industry analysis to support business stakeholders with commercial understanding of the market place & provide proactive insight to long term potential sourcing strategies The Person Tertiary education is highly desirable, with a Procurement & Supply Chain focus or a Business or Commerce related degree CIPS, IFPSM or AAPCM qualification or equivalent with experience in food, food-distribution, grocery sourcing, or non-food & services is desirable Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills including; Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook and PowerPoint Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base A strong negotiator and pr....
