The CNC Turner is responsible for the set-up and operation of the CNC Lathes. They are responsible for communicating any issues affecting the machines with the Production Manager. Primary Functions: · Program (preferred), set up and operate CNC Lathes to suit products and efficiencies · Ensure machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality products · Responsible for inspection of the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production or dispatch · Machining as per drawings, document packs or instruction · CNC programming using Mastercam software preferred · Housekeeping in and around the CNC machine including putting tools away and removing swarf · Tooling management · Machine Maintenance including Lubrication, Check coolant levels, First use checks and Machine warm ups · Prepare for the job including verifying raw material and verifying job sheets in accordance with the technical drawings EXPERIENCE · 3 - 5 years lathe experience · Programming of Lathes editing NC code · Knowledge of Haas and Fanuc Controls Skills: · Trade/Certificate III Mechanical Engineering · Highly skilled using manual and CNC lathes · Mastercam course (preferred) · Read and understand engineering drawings · Ability to plan their own time and workflow to meet deadlines · Intermediate to advanced hand skills · Good verbal and written communication · The ability to multi task and work independently PERFORMANCE GOALS: · May be required to carry out afternoon shift from time to time · Ensure that the work area is kept clean, tidy and equipment is maintained to company requirements · Flexibility in work assignments and locations.
