The Position We are looking to appoint an Executive Head Chef with a passion for great food, to create innovative menus and to lead and develop a culinary team at the University of Tasmania in Hobart. This is an exciting role encompassing multi-site production, showcasing dynamic culinary trends in high street retail outlets, first class functions, nutrition and quality-focused residential operations.

Relocation Assistance available for the right candidate Key Duties Create and execute innovative menus incorporating Chartwells brand standards. Demonstrate an overall knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating. Maintain a customer focus, responding to feedback positively and proactively, implementing great ideas and seeking opportunities for improvement.

Maintain an efficient and effective ordering and supply process and implement stock control system. Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are always maintained throughout all kitchen areas. Schedule and coordinate the work of chefs and other kitchen employees to ensure that food preparation is within budgeted labour cost.

Recruit employees, mentor upcoming talents and develop succession programme. Develop team commitment and cooperation and model high standards of performance behaviour. The Person An experienced and qualified Executive Head Chef with a hands-on approach and has a superior understanding of different types of service from large scale functions and events to cafeteria style flair.

An inspirational leader with a proven track record in demonstrating integrity, fairness and compassion with your team A positive, supportive leader with experience in carrying out personal development plans, staff training sessions and appraisals. Has a strong commercial acumen. A strong focus on quality and presentation standards.

Able to develop effective relationships with individuals at all levels from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Is passionate about delivering the highest levels of customer and client satisfaction. Has great attention to detail with an excellent ability to multi-task and prioritise.
