Food Director



Reporting to the head of the client content team, the role is responsible for overseeing all food content the Fresh team creates for Woolworths. The Food Director will plan and develop relevant, engaging, high-quality, on-brand food and recipe content for Woolworths’ cross-platform channels, including print and digital. They will love all things cooking and get a real kick out of creating the perfect food solutions for the right channel, no matter where the audience finds it.

What’s the role? Oversight of content planning and creation process for all food and recipe content Plan and execute creative and original themes, features and recipes in line with customers’ (Woolworths and audience) needs Be an opinion leader on market trends, with a deep understanding of supermarket innovations, supplier and client products and competitor landscape Ensure best-practice creative processes and quality assurance are in place and stuck to Work closely with the client to truly understand their needs from the inside out and reflect those in the work Create a forward-thinking, high-performing team that relishes challenges Develop issue themes, story briefs and styling ideas Who are you? Outstanding recipe ideation, writing, testing and editing skills and passion for food for print and digital channels Extensive experience in the food media industry and publishing Understanding and competency in dietary and nutrition guidelines Understanding of different audiences and drivers for digital vs print channels Ability to develop content that delivers on any channel Excellent recipe writing skills Ability to manage and run a happy and productive team of on-staff people and contributors Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships A creative flair and ability to conceptualise on the go Highly motivated with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment Ability to multitask and seek out efficiencies and identify alignment What’s in it for you?
