Senior Project Engineer - Drill and Blast - Mongolia

Reports to : Engineering Manager Duties Plan, schedule and coordinate underground initiatives in accordance with guidance from client Supervise and coach Expat Project Engineers, National lead Engineers, Drill and Blast Engineers, drafters, along with Mongolian national workforce Mentor, teach, and intellectually challenge the Mongolian national workforce to build a better knowledge base of mining techniques and best practice procedures A safety leader, able to thing outside the box and solution focused Develop and maintain client relationship by ensuring accurate monitoring of project progress Perform all functions related to Drill and Blast: Design, Calculations, Simulation, QA/QC, forensics on failed rounds, and Optimizations of Current Practice Provide technical support, quality and environmental control over the works in accordance with the contract specifications and relevant statutory regulations Plan and program the works under the contract to optimise efficiency and productivity and to minimise cost Identify changes and variations to the works under the contract and ensure these issues are recorded, tracked, and otherwise managed in accordance with the contract Coordinate and direct subcontractors and suppliers when required Act as Engineering Manager and delegate when required Attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, safety huddles, roster change, and shift change meetings when required Qualifications and Requirements Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering from recognized college or University Demonstrated extensive experience in an underground environment in a similar role High level initiative and ability to work under pressure Knowledge of safety management and systematic approach Good communication skills, both verbal and written Must work well in a diverse team environment Proven ability to provide leadership, performance feedback and management and team development Minimum 7 years experience as mining engineer with exposure to all facets of underground hard rock mining Previous experience mentoring and developing junior engineers Mine development and project optimization experience Skilled in mine software applications Benefits Package Competitive salary package FIFO from any location - 4 weeks on 2 weeks off If this role sounds right for you then please call Adam Shields - Senior Mining Consultant on 61 408 558 033 for a confidential discussion or email
