Nurse Unit Manager - Infection Control



Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, Lyell McEwin Hospital Indicative Total Remuneration: $124,301- $131,635 p.a. - Temp F/T - RN/RM3 - up to the 14 August 2020 Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of Infection Control practices within the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

The main focus of your role will be the management, coordination and leadership of nursing staff to achieve continuity and quality of inflection control protocols. Undertaking a combination of nursing care, team leadership and resource management, you will coordinate the Hospital’s Infection Control Programs to meet service and accreditation standards. You will provide a direct line report and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the health care team.

Accountable for the outcomes of nursing practices, you will address inconsistencies between Infection Control practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive workplace culture in the interest of patient outcomes. Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) is a 336-bed specialist referral public teaching hospital in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, providing services in the areas of General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. We provide a full range of high-quality medical, surgical, diagnostic, emergency and support services.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating a broad range of nursing experience and competence in accordance with appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
