Consultant - Geriatrics
Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, Modbury Hospital Indicative Total Remuneration: $320,766 - $361,641 (pro rata) - Consultant; $373,320 - $594,536 (pro rata) - Senior Consultant - Temp P/T (18.75 hrs p/wk, up to 22/11/2020) - MD2 An Area Geriatrics Service is being established in accordance with the SA Health Service Framework for Older People 2009-2016 to provide a comprehensive geriatric medicine service within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN). These services include, but will not be restricted to: the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit (GEM Modbury Hospital); community based Older Peoples Health Service; inpatient acute care of older people services; inpatient geriatric consultative services; consultative and outpatient service in the Inner North (based in Gawler); and Care Awaiting Placement (based in Gawler).
As a Consultant, you will contribute to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of, and referred to the Area Geriatrics Service. Services will be provided across the NALHN and may include some visits to rural South Australia. As part of your role, you will contribute to teaching/training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and participate in relevant research.

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will have appropriate specialist qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration.
Demonstrating clinical excellence in the field of Geriatric Medicine, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. You will display a high level of professional integrity, and have a sound understanding of the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families.
