60 â€“ WHA5 â€“ Perm F/T A diverse and challenging role in a progressive health environment, you will fulfil the role of a Sterilising Attendant within the Surgical Services Division at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. You will contribute to the effectiveness of sterilisation services by performing work under some direction as an individual or team member. Primarily, you will be responsible for collecting contaminated instruments and equipment and checking for completion of items prior to decontamination, identifying decontamination requirements of equipment and monitoring cleaning efficacy using defined testing procedures, as well as assembling and packing instruments and trays for sterilisation including checking material suitability and correct working order of all instruments.
Your duties will also include operating mechanical equipment, distributing sterile stock to clinical areas, as well as maintaining all sterilising load records including contents and sequence of loads. It is essential that you have completed an AQF Certificate III or are willing to work towards one depending on your level of appointment. To be considered at the WHA5 level, you must have recent satisfactory in service experience having worked in the sterilising industry.
You must also have demonstrated experience in perioperative and DSS environments. A strong relationship builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, you will have the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team or autonomously with minimal supervision. Good organisation skills are essential, and you will have the ability to learn new techniques quickly and apply them successfully.
Physically able to fulfil the role, you will possess sound working knowledge of the latest standards in Sterilisation Technology.
