Clinical Nurse - Forensic Community Mental Health
Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, Forensic Mental Health Service, Oakden Indicative Total Remuneration: $87,817 - $112,041 - Perm F/T - RN/RM2C You will provide clinical mental health nursing services within the Forensic Community Mental Health Service. Working within pre-determined guidelines and in a multi-disciplinary primary health care setting, you will assess consumers, select and implement different therapeutic interventions and support programs, and evaluate consumer progress. You will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others, and for the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides South Australiaâ€™s state-wide Forensic Mental Health Service, with three collocated inpatient units situated in Adelaideâ€™s north-eastern region, including an acute unit, James Nash House, a new high-quality sub-acute unit the Ken Oâ€™Brien Rehabilitation Unit and a community-based residential recovery centre, Ashton House. In addition to this the Forensic Community Team provides support to consumers living in the community and supports other service providers delivering care to forensic consumers. The Forensic Mental Health Service also provides a Court assessment and liaison service that manages the interplay between legal and mental health services.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate, along with a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a forensic mental health setting.
