As Australiaâ€™s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for over 150 years. The Eye and Ear has over 60 different specialist clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24 hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service.
The Eye and Ear provides care annually for around 250,000 patients, with over 195,000 outpatients, nearly 43,000 emergency patients and nearly 14,000 inpatients. The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to create a modern internal structure, improve access for patients and visitors and staff. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to use their high degree of clinical and leadership skills to facilitate coordinated, multidisciplinary care to a varied group of patients. Experience in managing staff and patient flow along with strong leadership and communication skills is desirable. In return they will form part of a highly supportive management team which is committed to excellence and innovation.
You will have relevant clinical experience in Emergency nursing preferably Ophthalmology and ENT, be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team, be an effective communicator to both patients and colleagues and dedicated to maintaining high quality nursing standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager you will provide key clinical, operational support and direction to the Emergency department.
