Stock / Warehouse Manager
UGL Unipart Rail Services Pty Ltd ( UGL Unipart ) was founded in December 2011 as a Joint Venture between UGL (Australia) and Unipart Rail (UK). UGL Unipart operates a Rail Maintenance Facility at Auburn where it maintains rolling stock for Sydney Trains, Transport for New South Wales and other rail operators. UGL Unipart is seeking an experienced Stock / Warehouse Manager to lead and conduct the stock audit activity within the Warehouse and Yard areas, including strategic offsite business partners, to ensure professional stock investigation, verification, data analysis and reporting service to the business and its customers.
The role is critical to ensuring all supply chain functions can be effectively conducted on the fundamental principle of maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy both system-based and physically. The Stock / Warehouse Manager manages the Afternoon Shift (2:45pm â€“ 11:45pm) Stock / Stores Operatives, with the accountability for Safety and Supervision ensuring that all material requirements are processed and supplied accurately, in full and on time to enable the business to achieve the scheduled car maintenance plan for Sydney Trains. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Prepare and execute the contractual perpetual stock check program and investigate the counting tasks to validate the accuracy of stock as directed by Business Imperatives.
Prepare and communicate routine business reporting requirements on stock auditing activity to all relevant stakeholders. Monitor staff performance and carry out assessments to ensure staff competencies accurately reflect job competencies, identifying training and development requirements. Actively manage staff performance to achieve business requirements and staff development outcomes.
Routinely review and update all processes used by the Team including (but not limited to) Procedures, Work Instructions, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Develop applicable process documentation, functional procedures, work instructions, forms, templates etc., and ensure publication and control through the Quality Management System (QMS/DMS).
Undertake any ad-hoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Operations Manager Warehouse & Logistics or GM Supply Chain and/or Strategic Planning and Inventory Manager. Qualification and Key Requirements Minimum 5 yearsâ€™ experience working within a warehousing & logistics environment. Relevant management and supervisory experience, with sound understanding of budgetary, cost control and performance management activities.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in data analysis and generation of reports. Demonstrated working knowledge of stock control processes, warehouse computer systems and their interfaces with accounting processes in relation to stock accounts and transactions and familiar with MRP/ERP systems.
