Director, Communicable Diseases Executive Band 1 Health Protection NSW - Health System Support Group An exciting opportunity is available for a dynamic individual to join NSW Health in a key strategic role to lead and deliver effective communicable disease control in NSW. Role Outline The Director, Communicable Diseases leads and provides strategic direction for communicable disease control and prevention in NSW, with special focus on immunisation and vaccine preventable, respiratory, blood borne and sexually transmissible infections. Applying for this Role You are required to submit your resume, a one page covering letter and a short statement in response to the two targeted questions below: In NSW, the large majority of immunisations are administered by general practitioners. The Director is responsible for maximising immunisation rates across the state. What are the key components of running a safe and effective immunisation program? Describe your experience in using epidemiological methods to investigate disease outbreaks.

Essential Requirements The successful candidate will have: Registration as a specialist medical practitioner or ability to be registered as a medical specialist with AHPRA Postgraduate qualifications in public health and extensive expertise and experience in immunisation and communicable disease surveillance, control and prevention This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Medical Specialist Level 1, Health Service senior executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $280,700 to $322,250 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
