Senior Tax Advisor - In-house My client is an ASX listed resources company with operations all over the globe. Due to growth and an increased work load, we have a vacancy available for an experienced tax professional to join the Group Tax Team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Tax Manager, the purpose of this position is to support the Group in meeting its tax compliance obligations and tax-related financial reporting in Australia and Asia Pac in an effective and efficient manner within an acceptable risk profile and to work across the business operations to ensure that tax risks are identified and appropriately managed.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows: Leads the compliance process for Australian income tax and indirect taxes including GST, FBT and withholding tax. Manages timelines for preparation and submission of monthly and annual returns and manages related cash flows and reconciliations. Assists with preparation and submission of income tax returns in APAC and other indirect compliance as required.

Responsibility for certain aspects of the compliance process. Preparation of statutory reporting disclosures Preparation of tax budgeting and forecasting Identify tax related risks and manage implementation of practical advice to the business operations as required Business partnering with Finance Team and Business Units Provision of tax advice on day to day tax related queries from within the group Tax return and GST return classification of routine or regular transactions Financial reporting of tax balances and income tax expense reconciliations Changes / modifications to data collection and reporting systems and processes Communications with and provision of information to joint venture partners Approval of all documents / reports / returns for release to Government or Joint Venture partners Lodgement of final returns / BAS / FBT etc with revenue authorities All correspondence with Government Agencies Final tax advice, risk assessments, financial reporting disclosures and accounting matters for consideration Management of external relationships - manage relationship with tax authorities and external advisors. The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience & attributes: CA/CPA qualified 7 years' experience in an Australian income tax focussed role Deep tax technical, compliance and reporting knowledge Ability to work independently, identify and devise creative business solutions to tax related risks Ability to liaise with operational staff, tax authorities and industry peers Ability to analyse, interpret and present/communicate financial data Strong financial reporting skills Strong communication skills Ability to manage timetables, prioritise work flows and meet deadlines Strong IT systems proficiency is required (e.

g. SAP, accounting software, tax software, Excel). Extensive experience in a tax advisory role, preferably with a recognised tax/legal consulting firm Additional experience in the resources.
