Albury Wodonga Health Rehabilitation Medicine Registrar Full Time, Fixed Term Contract 2020 Clinical Year The Position An outstanding opportunity exists for Rehabilitation Medicine Registrar to work at Albury Wodonga Health for 2020. This is an accredited position but we would welcome applications from those with a genuine passion to work within the sub-acute sector but who are yet to enter specialist training. Don't miss this exciting opportunity Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is a major regional health service supporting a population catchment of 250,000 and encompassing two acute hospital sites, Albury Hospital and Wodonga Hospital.
The Rehabilitation Unit at AWH forms part of the sub-acute service, located at our Wodonga Hospital Campus and provides a supportive teaching environment for both Junior and Advanced Rehabilitation Medicine Trainees. Our Rehabilitation Ward has 20 beds and provides a general service with an interest in Stroke, Spasticity and Neurological cases. We run outpatient Multiple Sclerosis, Spasticity, General and Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinics which all provide the trainee learning opportunities.
The Advanced Trainee is well placed to learn and practice botulinum toxin injections and intrathecal Baclofen pump management. Albury Wodonga has one of Australia's largest inland populations and provides all the facilities of metropolitan centres combined with an enviable lifestyle. The big Murray River meanders its way between the tin border towns of Albury and Wodonga.
Falls Creek ski fields are a short drive away and Lake Hume offers scenic views and opportunities for water sports. King Valley region offers wines and restaurants to leave you with a lasting impression of the wonders of this part of Australia. Albury Wodonga have good public and private schools for those with young families.
Large shopping centres are available in both Albury and Wodonga. The Person We encourage applicants who either have a long-term goal of regionally based Specialist practice or have a desire to have a constant one-on-one training program geared to assist the candidate to pass their examinations. A good understanding of the unique demands of rural or regional health will be highly regarded although the post does also offer the successful candidate to learn about these demands.
