We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join a leading local organisation assisting the Assets & Operations Manager maintain a safe, reliable and productive operations team. Western Murray Irrigation (WMI) is an irrigation infrastructure operator providing irrigation and drainage services to the Curlwaa, Coomealla and Buronga irrigation areas in south-western NSW. The position will is based at their Depot located in Dareton, NSW.
This hands-on role will suit a current supervisor with experience in the water distribution, manufacturing or trade industry. You will provide leadership and supervision of operations personnel, including contractors, with a focus on maintaining a safe, reliable, accountable and productive team. You will also supervise and in some circumstances assist with both scheduled and breakdown maintenance works Core objectives, while working closely with the Assets and Operations Manager, include: Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and mentoring.
Supervise both scheduled and breakdown maintenance works, including contractors. Actively promote, monitor and manage work health and safety and environmental plans. Play a leading and active role in all hazard and incident investigations.
Ensure all SOPs, SWMS, manuals and supplier information is kept up to date. Ensure all equipment is kept in safe working order, and that mandatory services and inspections are carried out. Assist with key administrative functions including payroll records, operational reports and staff reviews.
Coordinate, manage and lead projects assigned by the Assets and Operations Manager. Under roster arrangements, perform standby duties which require the return to work out of hours when circumstances arise. Work reasonable overtime, as and when required.
Manage and execute works efficiently on time and within budget/delegated authority. Ideally, you will have Qualifications and/or supervisory experience in the water distribution industry, manufacturing or trade is desirable. Additionally, you will have at least 5 years demonstrated operations and maintenance experience with proven leadership capabilities.
You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to mentor and build teams while getting the job done, work well under pressure, Organisational and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, Problem-solving skills and computer literacy.
