About us Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders, and forms part of the Security and Intelligence Services. The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and intelligence officers located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria. The CVIU is located at the Statewide Services Building, Ravenhall, Victoria.

About the role Reporting to the Intelligence Manager, the primary role and purpose of the Corrections Intelligence Officer is to provide operational support for all intelligence related matters conducted by the CVIU. Working closely with the Intelligence Analysts, this role will gather information in order to prevent prisoner escapes, assaults upon staff and prisoners, the introduction and usage of contraband in prisons, and to identify possible prisoner incidents/unrest. In this role, you will: collect, collate, record and analyse particular information available to the CVIU and develop this information for presentation to management and distribution to authorised persons and agencies prepare intelligence reports for senior management, and provide advice on the results of intelligence gathering, including the identification and evaluation of emerging threats, opportunities, patterns and trends provide support in the development of systems to facilitate more effective and efficient information collection, recording, analysis and dissemination of intelligence information within CV and to its stakeholders.

About you As our ideal candidate, you will have: demonstrated knowledge of, or the capacity to learn, computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes and internal CV computer systems knowledge of the CV system, particularly the principles and philosophy underpinning relevant legislation experience in the use of information management systems, preferably Palantir and/or other data managing technologies is highly desirable.
