Benefits 2 return flights annually (upto $5200) Generous rates of pay Professional development allowance About the company Our client provides a range of services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the areas of Mount Isa, North West and Lower Gulf of Carpentaria regions. Their core objective is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to improve their health and wellbeing, whilst continually enhancing the quality and scope of care provided. About the opportunity Working in conjunction with a small multi-disciplinary Primary Health Care team in the delivery of culturally appropriate Occupational Therapy to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, including chronic disease self-management and rehabilitation.

The role will entail outreach service delivery from clinic-based and community-based settings, both in Mount Isa and outreach to the communities of Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Burketown, Normanton and Karumba. The Mount Isa region is the gateway to the Outback of Queensland, offers a relaxed and casual lifestyle, with a wealth of camping and exploring, scenic national parks, gorges, as well as top river, lake and open water fishing and recreation. Duties Grow relationships with internal and external stakeholders Deliver education workshops to service users Continuously develop clinical skills and knowledge Manage a client portfolio of varying needs Support a diverse client group of all ages.

Work within your scope to provide evidence-based care Provide periodic performance and evaluation reports Skills and experiences Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy AHPRA Registration Valid drivers licence 2 year plus experience Current working with children's check or willing to obtain A comprehensive understanding of the health issues impacting the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Commitment to ongoing professional development Demonstrate the ability to work within a cohesive multi-disciplinary team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to relationships with clients and relatives Culture An enthusiastic team dedicated to delivering a high-quality healthcare and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in rural and remote Australia.
