The APS 6 Legal Secretary / Executive Assistant plays a critical role in assisting the Chair of our Federal Government client. You will support the Chair in their daily role to ensure that they are briefed, prepared and able to meet all of their obligations and commitments. This role will see you provide high level administrative support including liaison with Commissioner, Legal Counsel and other senior internal and external stakeholders.

Duties are carried out under limited direction and include prioritising diary requests and managing all aspects of the administration of the office. The successful candidate must show initiative and make operational or administrative decisions on behalf of the Chair. Ideally you will be a highly experienced Legal Secretary / Executive Assistant with relevant experience in either a professional services firm or government agency preferably with 70-80 wpm typing and 98% accuracy.

The successful candidate must be proficient with MS Word, Outlook and other MS applications. Responsibilities: Under limited direction, the APS 6 Executive Assistant undertakes a wide variety of activities related to executive support, including: Manage all correspondence in and out of the Deputy Secretary's office, including email and all other types of communications Manage and co-ordinate the Deputy Secretary's diary, including scheduling, organising venues, making travel arrangements, booking accommodation Provide telephone management, including screening calls and liaising with stakeholders Prepare, draft, proofread and apply style guides, tools and templates to legal and complex administrative documents and correspondence from dictaphone and/or in accordance with instructions Carry out legal and library research as necessary On behalf of the Chair, liaise on behalf with internal staff, other Commissioners and Executives and internal and external stakeholders in relation to the co-ordination of information, briefs and papers, meetings and other interactions.
