ABOUT THE ROLE AFL Victoria’s vision is to be regarded as an accountable, respectful and progressive sporting organisation that is responsible for the continued growth of Australian Football in Victoria by: acting collaboratively in the best interests of the game; providing strong leadership and effective guidance; managing relevant and viable state league competitions that form an integral part of the talent pathway; supporting participation pathways and development programs. Reporting to the AFL Victoria Country Football Manager, the Commercial and Operations Manager’s focus is to lead and manage the football operations, administration and Commercial elements of the RAC. Using a hands-on and approachable leadership style you will responsible for building and leading all phases of the AFL Western District sponsorship program, the football environment and the functionality of the Western District region.

The AFL is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our care. The AFL undertakes several screening processes to ensure the appropriate protection of children in its care. Please note, employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory criminal history record check and a valid Working with Children Check.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Responsibilities shall include, but not limited to the following: Strategy: Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities to support the strategic objectives and business plans within the region. Execute best practice management through clear operating policies and procedures in line with AFL Victoria. Conduct regular evaluation of business activities to ensure compliance is met.

Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative of the Region Commission, in consultation with the Commission Chair. Community Foundation: Participation Develop a regional focus to improve engagement, participation rates and strategic growth Establish and capitalise on opportunities to grow participation, through Club based football, development programs or new initiatives within the region. C Community Identify and research key issues impacting on community football to develop appropriate responses Further develop League, Club and Umpiring group environments to enhance the overall quality of community football Lead the strategic development of umpiring in the Region Work with local stakeholders to identify the best structure.
