KEY LEADERSHIP ROLE Director of Religious Education Religious Education Directorate About Us The Catholic education system in Western Australia provides a dynamic, student centred approach to education for more than 73,000 young people in 162 schools and early learning and care centres across the State. Catholic Schools in Western Australia work together as one system on behalf of the four dioceses â€“ Perth, Bunbury, Geraldton and Broome. Their collaboration is directed towards creating education environments which enhance learning, nurture young people and empower them to live the Catholic faith in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
The Strategic Directions for Catholic Education focus on six areas â€“ Catholic Identity, Access and Diversity, Common Good and Stewardship, Quality and Improvement, Strategy and Leadership. We are seeking an exceptional Catholic Leader and Educator to join the Executive Team in the role of Director, Religious Education. This is a five-year maximum term contract commencing January 2020.
The Role The Director of Religious Education is appointed by the Bishops of Western Australia to develop and supervise the Religious Education program to be taught in each diocese. The Director is responsible to the Bishops for the religious content presented in any programs and activities offered by the Catholic Education Office (CEO). Your Background The Director of Religious Education will be a proven Catholic education leader who has a clear commitment to being Christ-centred and student focused.
Fundamental to this role is your capacity to have a strong understanding of the leadership model of Jesus in the Gospels. You will also be imbued with the desire to enable and serve others involved in the religious education and formation of young people in both schools and Catholic communities.
