Protection System Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Protection System Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure team. Based in our Macquarie Park, NSW offices you will be required to prepare detailed design of circuits for substation protection, control, communication, instrumentation and alarm schemes at voltages up to and including 500kV. You will also be required to assist the project management team in the development of the design and project plans, prepare protection study reports and/or protection relay settings as per the protection study report, development of specifications to meet customer requirements, lead FAT/SAT and/or commissioning as required, and check/approve detailed electrical designs from outside parties.
You may interface with teams in other parts of the globe and knowledge of another language, like Spanish, while not a requirement for the role will be advantageous. What you will bring: Experience in detailed design of circuits for substation protection, control, communication, instrumentation and alarm schemes at voltages up to and including 500kV. Knowledge of Engineering Base software as a tool for detailed design.
Sound knowledge of protection configuration of Siemens protection relays (Siprotec 4, Siprotec 5, Reyrolle relays) Good knowledge of communication protocols, IEC61850, DNP3, etc Ability to write Specifications and Philosophy documents of projects to satisfy customer requirements.
