WHITE BAY 6 MARINE PARK Salary $55,000 superannuation The role involves preparing and applying a range of preparations and paint finishes to marine vessels The successful applicant must have: At least three years of relevant painting and marine experience in a ship building environment is essential.Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in: Marine hull preparation Types of marine paint – primers, undercoats, topcoats Marine paint purpose and functions including components – pigmenting and filling extenders, binders, solvents, thinners Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Thorough understanding of WHS and EPA requirements Ability to understand the required application processes by hand and various paint machines Will be required to lead small work teams, including training, and will therefore require some supervisory experience. Job duties include: Following work directions given by the project supervisor Erecting scaffolding and ladders Preparing marine surfaces above and below the waterline for paint and antifoul systems Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives Applying marine paint to topsides and antifoul coating systems to all types of vessels using rollers and spraying equipment May fill and fair surfaces as required Cleaning equipment and work areas Supervising and delivering training to junior staff Complying with Work, Health and Safety regulations; Complying with company policies and procedures, including the completion of documents and records; Complying with environmental regulations; MUST INCLUDE DETAILED RESUME AND REFERENCES.
