An exciting opportunity has opened in our Melbourne office to join the team as a Lead Systems Engineer reporting directly to our Software Engineering Manager based there. You will be joining a well-established team that's responsible for delivering ongoing IT change related to a unique set of business processes within nbn. A bit about your role This is a senior position within the Systems Team.
As a technical lead, you will be providing technical solution direction and acting as the technical decision maker to resolve conflicts or remove technical Systems barriers as well as actively participating in the design, coding and testing activities. This role has an interesting mix as 50% of the time you will be doing people management where you get to mentor less experienced members of the team and the remaining 50% is hands on technical work. In a nutshell, you will be supporting the development of the team capabilities in an environment that values collaboration, innovation, agile delivery, cross-skilling, sponsor engagement, continuous improvement and team success.
A bit about you We are looking for an individual with a strong background in the specific application platforms supported by the Systems Team, devops engineering practises and people leadership skills to support a small team of software engineers (8 to 10 staff members). You are a hands-on technology implementer who can lead the Automation efforts utilizing state-of-the-art technology to achieve best practices in DevOps, Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and Test-Driven Development (TDD). You will also be responsible for engaging teams to enable full automation of build, deployment and testing from unit level to end to end regression testing, also, you understand how to facilitate team transformation to a DevOps delivery model.
You have previous knowledge of Agile methodologies as well as good understanding and experience in the latest Cloud technologies (including migration to Cloud) specifically with AWS. You are well versed with OSS Fulfillment orchestration using Comptel 7-9 Fulfilment suite including hands on knowledge on PSA, Comptel Order Manager & workflow designer, Comptel Catalog, Instant Link 7, Service and Resource Inventory. Additionally, you have sound expertise in PL/SQL, Core Java and XML/XSLTs.
It would be advantageous if you have knowledge of application servers like Weblogic and Websphere, messaging technologies including AMQ, XML/JMS, WMQs, SOA based integration with experience in SOAP or REST based services as well....
