General Manager Customer and High Impact Services
The General Manager â€“ Public Services Transformation (PST) Customer and High Impact Services role will be accountable for leading a complex program of work that will deliver targeted, effective interventions to accelerate the Bureau's transformation to become an organisation that deeply understands the customer, and delivers high value, differentiated products and services. Reporting to the Program Director, the General Manager will interact effectively with colleagues across the organisation and have a diverse range of skills including program and project management, human resources management, policy development, risks and issues management and writing to influence audiences. Experience in leading organisational change in customer focussed operational 'knowledge based' environments like the Bureau would be highly regarded.
To be successful in the role, the General Manager must be able to work with considerable autonomy, meet deadlines, manage and influence stakeholders and sensitivities, sustain high quality outputs, marshal broad expertise to deliver measurable program benefits, and have a meticulous approach to project documentation and standards. The PST program is a three-year program of improvement to design and deliver a new climatological, hydrological and meteorological services model in consultation with staff, customers, partners and stakeholders. This program of improvement will see the Bureau increasing its overall investment in our public services and our staff and will help us deliver on our goals: contribute to zero lives lost due to natural hazards and $2 billion in added social and economic value for Australia by 2022.
The transformation will reach all parts of the organisation and will: Provide customers with an outstanding experience every time they engage with the Bureau; Deliver products and services that provide the highest impact and value for the Australian community; and Ensure the Bureau's operations are resilient and sustainable, and staff are fulfilled and safe.
