The Grand Bistro restaurant is located in Bowral NSW Australia. We are seeking an experienced Cook with a positive attitude and is prepared to work in a challenging kitchen environment based in regional NSW. Brief Job Description You will be responsible for all aspects of food preparation and cooking as directed by the Head Chef.
You will be self-motivated and self-disciplined and have a natural ability to work within a team environment. You will be perform all duties to the best of your ability at all times and follow all reasonable and lawful directions given to you by the employer, including complying with policies and procedures as amended from time to time. Essential Criteria At least 2 years work experience in a commercial kitchen within a restaurant/cafe setting; Relevant qualifications including but not limited to a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; Demonstrable understanding and compliance with Australian food safety standards, cleanliness and all aspects of hygiene; Demonstrable culinary techniques in food preparation, cooking, tasting and plating for wide range of food options (including gluten free and vegetarian diets); Demonstrable experience with gluten-free and vegetarian diets; Demonstrable ability to work with and manage commercial kitchen equipment; Demonstrated ability to work under instructions, pressure, in an orderly and clean manner, and as a team player in a busy kitchen environment; Demonstrated communication skills in a team environment. Desirable Criteria Experience in pastry cooking; Experience in gluten free food; Experience in food preparation and tasting across a wide range of global cuisines. Base Salary: $54,000 - $57,000 per annum subject to level of experience.
