Sales Engineer – Cooling Towers New Equipment



Main duties and responsibilities Work with client’s engineering consultants for development of mechanical specifications and preliminary selection of the equipment Analyse and review equipment plans, drawings and specifications, to provide design input and recommendations Design equipment which fulfill the constraints, design parameters, and technical requirements stated in client’s mechanical specifications/drawings Prepare/source the technical documents required to be submitted as part of bidding package Resolve any technical issues that arise during execution. Ensure timely and in budget delivery to the client. Co-ordinate with internal/external stakeholders to achieve project objectives Perform site inspections, troubleshooting and diagnosis of technical problems in the heat exchangers or cooling towers, develop appropriate solutions Review standard and policies for job processes (SWM’s/SOP’s), measurement program, quality control, testing, maintenance, installation to establish standard, achieve accurate and high quality work, for continuous improvement Inspecting workshop and ongoing jobs progress to ensure optimum quality of work Work closely with Workshop Manager on the following, to ensure project success.

maintenance schedules research and propose requirement of equipment operational process, worker utilisation, equipment efficiencies and optimum production ongoing jobs progress and delivery of project solutions if issues arise Adhere to all safety regulations and prepare job safety analysis (JSA) for new equipment installation projects Deal with subcontractors as required for ancillary requirements related to new Cooling Towers or Heat Exchangers. Manage all logistical and technical issues with suppliers Liaising with the customer throughout the project Resolving relative quality and warranty issues, ensuring all issues are dealt with in a timely manner. Provide quotation of heat exchangers or cooling towers as per customers’ request.

Responsible for achieving or exceeding yearly and monthly targets through the sale of new Cooling Tower, parts and service while maintaining set gross margins. Analyse Quoted vs Actual hours and gross profits results Represent the company at all relevant industry promotional events to profile the company and its product range. Manage customer relationships so as to maximise quote conversions and repeat business.

Proactively seek out new Cooling Tower and new Heat Exchanger project opportunities. Undertake research Continue to develop Customer Relationship Management Program Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Experience Experience in the field of heat transfer desirable; Experience in equipment sales desirable; Experience with mechanical engineering CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project & Access advantageous but not essentials. Demonstrated Project management skills.
