Rigger Rigger Apply We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Rigger to join our growing team for photo-realistic feature film work. Employment periods: Immediate start, short and long term contracts will be considered. Location: Adelaide, Australia.

This position is open to Australian and international applicants. Visa and relocation assistance provided where applicable. Position Overview Riggers are required to create efficient puppet rigs for the layout, animation and lighting departments using the established rigging tools and pipeline.

With previous experience creating straightforward, intuitive rigs for feature film and using a creative and collaborative approach, Rigging TD’s provide the mechanical control and realistic deformation for bipeds, quadrupeds, vehicles and other hard surface models. Demonstrated experience with Maya is a fundamental pre-requisite for the successful applicant. The strength of your creative eye, excellent communication & collaboration, together with strong technical and programming background is essential.

Responsibilities Work closely with modellers and animators to define the mechanics and requirements of the rig. Ensure rigs meet animation needs and RSP’s pipeline standards. Create adjustable, efficient, anatomically correct human and facial rigs with intuitive animation controls, to tight delivery and quality standards.

Ensure a high level of realistic deformation using in house and standard tools for deformation techniques. Work with other riggers to contribute to and maintain RSP’s modular python rigging toolset and standards. Help debug animators scenes and provide suitable rig updates to hit shot deadlines.

Present your work for internal reviews after ensuring it hits creative and technical notes. Clearly communicate with production any delays or obstacles that may impact your delivery. Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace influencing morale, fostering purposeful discussions and a positive work ethic.

Required Skills and Experience Minimum 3-years rigging experience using native, commercial and self developed rigging tools within Maya. An understanding of Python and Maya’s python API. An understanding of Linear Algebra and it’s application within rigging.

Thorough understanding of anatomical features, subtleties, quirks and limitations. Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a deadline focused work environment. Technical and creative problem solving with a can-do mindset.

Ability to work within a team and time manage. Visual Effects, Fine Art, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics or related tertiary qualification may be required for international applicants. Desired Skills C++ for plugin development (or willing and able to learn) highly desired.

Understanding of Object Oriented design patterns. A strong understanding of anatomy and human mechanics. Knowledge and experience with Maya Nucleus dynamics – Ncloth and Nhair.

Experience with Mayaâ.
