Senior Insights and Strategic Analyst An exciting opportunity exists to influence strategic planning and road safety outcomes through insightful data analysis within the NSW Comprehensive Third Party insurance scheme. Grade 9/10. An 18month temporary full-time position with the option to extend up to 36 months.
DFSI supports flexible working arrangements and work with staff to develop and maintain work/life balance. CBD Location. The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) regulates motor accident CTP insurance, workers compensation insurance and the home building compensation fund in NSW.
The work we do makes a difference to the NSW community and businesses by ensuring that these insurance and support systems deliver what they are supposed to, at an affordable price and in a sustainable way. SIRA has a strong role to play in funding, promoting and informing injury prevention and reducing the need for compensation claims. To this end we work in partnership with Transport for NSW Centre for Road Safety to achieve the objectives of the NSW Road Safety Strategy 2012 -2021.
SIRA's Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation team works to make a positive difference in the NSW compulsory insurance schemes through research and utilisation of an evidence based approach to injury prevention and injury recovery. We are seeking a senior analyst with a commitment to providing insightful data analysis leading to a reduction in road trauma, improved recovery and a sustainable CTP scheme. The successful applicant will work closely with SIRA's data analysis and reporting team and with colleagues at the Transport for NSW Centre for Road Safety.
The Opportunity We have an exciting role for a Strategic Analyst to be a part of our Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation team. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone to utilise their advanced technical skills to inform SIRA's planning and strategy setting through reports, advice and submissions to stakeholders. The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to strategic planning through scenario analysis and complex data analytics.
The role is ideally suited to strategic forward thinkers wanting to use their analytical, research and communication skills to make a positive contribution to policy creation, SIRA's regularity functions and contribute to the NSW Road Safety Plan. To be successful in this role, you will need Relevant tertiary qualification with significant research, analystics components, or equivalent experience. A background in biostatistics, epidemiology, health data analysis and/or linked data sets will be viewed favourably.
Experience in undertaking complex analysis of large datasets from several sources and linked data. A desire to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and disciplines such as actuaries, biostatistics and policy practitioners. Excellent communication skills to enable the sharing of ideas and the outcomes of analysis to a broad range of stakeholder.
