NT News is looking for a Deputy Digital Editor who is a self-starter, energetic and passionate about working in media. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your ability to thrive in an autonomous role, yet be a team player. Please note, this is a full time role, working over a 7 day rotational roster.

What is the role: As the Deputy Digital Editor for the NT News, you will be responsible for assisting the Digital Editor with the coordination and production of content across all digital platforms. The Deputy Digital Editor is the day-to-day leader of the digital news platform, responsible for delivering the highest quality journalism for local stories that best meet the needs of our digital audiences. You will manage breaking news, including utilising social media to source stories.

Editing, adding content, publishing online and sourcing videos to accompany these stories will also come under your remit. As a key part of the editorial team, the Deputy Digital Editor will be responsible for driving content that engages local digital audiences across all digital platforms whilst being aligned with commercial goals. In addition, you will assist the Digital Editor to determine what content will be published, on which platform and at what time.

Adhering to legal guidelines is a must in this role. Who you are: The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position and a natural interest in current affairs and news. You will be able to demonstrate: Setting and working to deadlines Previous experience producing top news content Ability to work calmly under pressure and remain driven Strong journalism exposure, with a passion for all things digital and online content Experience using Methode and PhotoShop (essential) Knowledge of video and audio editing software (advantageous) How to join us: News Corp Australia is evolving in response to the expectations and challenges of the digital world in which we now live.
