Senior Civil Cost Estimator- Consultancy
This global international consultancy is recognised around the world for their role in many high profile, challenging and in some instances groundbreaking infrastructure projects. Based in Sydney's CBD their successful commercial team have recently won a number of key projects to add to their sizeable portfolio of Australian projects. As a result they are now looking to source a Senior Estimator to lead the civil infrastructure cost estimating team.
The duties for this Senior Estimator role include: Ability to use the company's estimating software/systems Able to use estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling all types of estimates. Recognise which factors may impact the estimate Utilise estimates to predict key project issues. Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates.
Understand construction methodology Complete the full lifecycle of the estimating process including preparation of the estimate plan. Provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel. Develops wage rate build-ups.
Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts. Develops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials. Develops cash flow schedules and estimates.
Working knowledge of the CAES estimating system. Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes. Prepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.
Understands Earned Value Management theory and application. Minimum Requirements 10 years of relevant experience in either Road, Rail, or Water sectors Marine or mining experience would also be considered Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying or relevant construction/engineering field of study Ability to work under own initiative and unsupervised, but also as part of a team Impeccable verbal, written and numeracy skills in a client facing capacity The candidate should be skilled in verbal and written communication, with a high level of attention to detail. Accurate numeracy skills are essential Professional registration with relevant institution (for example RICS, AACE CCC, etc.
