Team Leader - Rail
Our client, a well-known leader in the Rail Industry, is looking for an experienced Team Leader to join their team in Melbourne immediately on a permanent basis. Please note to be successful you must be ready to complete various checks: reference/background and/or pre-employment medical and/or psychometric test and/or skills assessment. Responsibilities Accountable for the day to day direct supervision of employees within a defined team Accountable for driving desired behaviours and implementing company strategy within the team Maintain consistent and professional relations with the internal and external stakeholders and encourage feedback on issues Support the Project Manager and Key Account Manager in customer interaction Actively listen to and build positively on others' ideas Display fairness, exhibit trust and foster real teamwork and sharing Pro-actively seek and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers, management and customers to deliver results Skills & Experience Mechanical or Electrical qualifications (dual trade preferred) Current/recent experience with locomotives and/or heavy diesel vehicles Sound leadership experience with managing blue collar workforce of more than 15 people Understanding of rail OH&S legislation and its requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong problem solving skills Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint Strong focus to HSE work practices and Zero Harm approach Able to cope with high stress environments Train Track Safety Awareness certification and RIW card are advantageous If this sounds like you APPLY now or contact Tiffany on 03 9924 2470.
