Seeking a Forensic AOD Psychologist for permanent role in Melbourne Your new company We are reaching out to experienced AHPRA registered Psychologists across the country who are interested in relocating to Melbourne to take on this incredibly attractive role based in one of Melbourne's high profile prisons. Working with convicted offenders on remand, you will provide support through managed programs to people experiencing drug and alcohol addiction. Your new role As the Prison Psychologist, you will be based in one of Melbourne's western suburbs prisons implementing and supporting an AOD program whilst managing a team of staff.

Your responsibilities and duties will include: Development, delivery, monitoring and review of the range of forensic alcohol and other drug services provided by the clinical team Working within protocols and meeting all aspects of the contract requirements Ensure the justice health and other performance standards are met Promote and provide high quality engagement, assessment, treatment and support services to prisoners with diverse needs using AOD and forensic best practice principal Ensure that agreed treatment service targets are met and appropriately monitored and reported Provide strategic direction and innovation in forensic AOD service provision and contribute to leadership across the different sectors Undertake and contribute to research and evaluation projects that enhance the development and provision of AOD clinical services to meet diverse prisoner needs Conceptualise and develop new program initiatives to meet diverse and changing prisoner needs and seek approval for any program adaptation Oversee the development and maintenance of appropriate client related documentation to ensure client and service agreement obligations are met, recorded and reported as agreed Ensure that program facilitation materials are regularly reviewed to ensure that they are aligned with best practice and meet relevant quality standards Ensure staff receive the support necessary for them to be able to contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of the team Provide effective leadership to staff so they understand and can achieve service priorities Ensure all staff are appraised and counselled at least annually in accordance with organisation policies Maintain file records, data collection processes and reporting as required What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position: It is essential that you have a relevant tertiary health and / or welfare qualification such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or Allied Health Sciences with appropriate professional registration (AHPRA or AASW) Hold a forensic qualification (desirable) Hold a management qualification (desirable) Experience managing a team is essential Must have a post graduate AOD qualification or Certificate IV in AOD or have completed the core.
