Heavy Plant Engineering Lead
• Grade RC7: $135,315 - $148,879 plus superannuation • Permanent Full time position based at Clyde • Manage and lead a team of Heavy Plant practitioners The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Plant Engineering Leader to be a part of our Major Works team within Sydney Trains. Reporting to the Service Manager Heavy Plant & Resurfacing, this position plays a key role in the management of a team of Heavy Plant engineers whom support the tradespersons that undertake maintenance on Heavy Plant’s electrical and mechanical systems, equipment. This role is the interface to ensure the technical integrity and cost effective operation and maintenance of the assets throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities for the position include: – • managing and providing the technical leadership for the development, review and continuous improvement of Technical Maintenance Plans through the application Sydney Trains approved methodologies and procedures; • facilitating the optimisation of maintenance strategies through the application of Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) techniques or other risk based techniques; • leading the investigation into reliability issues for systems and system interfaces; • providing the technical interface between engineering and field maintainers in respect to the application of maintenance strategies; and providing technical advice to the unit and other units in Sydney Trains on matters relating to electrical and mechanical systems, equipment and interfaces and the field maintenance for that equipment; We are looking for a Heavy Plant Engineering Leader with relevant post graduate practical experience in maintenance engineering or maintenance management on railway electrical and mechanical infrastructure. You will have the ability to dissect, analyse and comprehend complex engineering systems through the analysis of documentation, sketches, schematics and drawings, with the knack to convey detailed and accurate documentation from your analysis. The ideal candidate will have proven management skills who can build a culture of accountability and performance.
