Status Resolution Officer
Duties Overview of the Branch and Section: The positions belong to Status Resolution Section NSW, in the Status Resolution Branch. The Status Resolution Branch manages a range of responsibilities including: • Bridging Visa D, E and R frameworks; • National Office support to the Status Resolution Network ensuring a nationally consistent model and consistent practices; • Operation of a Status Resolution Helpdesk and provision of high-level case support, procedural advice, and guidance on the resolution of cases to the Status Resolution Network, the Executive and Minister's Office; • Operation of the Detention Review Managers' team that reviews lawfulness of detention decisions; • Drafting of submissions to the Minister on the exercise of his Ministerial Intervention powers; • Implementation of the recommendations of the Status Resolution and the Detention Capability Reviews; • Accountability for developing, managing and executing the contract for assisted voluntary return and reintegration assistance services. About the role: APS4 SROs undertake moderately complex activities, under general direction, to resolve client immigration status.
They contribute to migration programme integrity through proactive identification, management and resolution of clients' immigration status.
