The Role An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Interventional Cardiology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region. You will take responsibility for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) Coordination Managing referrals, booking of TAVI/Mitral-clip tests and procedures required for evaluation of suitability for procedure Providing comprehensive education and support to patients and carers during the TAVI assessment phase and prior to implantation for patients accepted to program Electrophysiology (EP) Scheduling Co-ordinating and schedules all patient testing. Reviews results with physicians and ensures patient communication regarding results and/or recommendations Participating in quality activities and identifies opportunities for service improvement and implementation of best practice Requirements for the role It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B A Bachelor of Nursing or Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) A post-graduate qualification in the specialty area is highly desirable Experience in senior nursing positions within a relevant specialty is highly desirable Benefits Career Development Leave loading Mentoring Salary Packaging Modern Facilities Diverse Work Culture Salary information Temporary part time (six months, 40 hrs p.

f.) Base salary ranging from $54.36 - $59.

02 per hour Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution 17.5% leave loading About the Unit The Cardiac Services at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) includes a 20 bed cardiology ward, 6 bed CCU and 3 Cardiac Catheter Suites with one being a Electrophysiology Laboratory and the other 2 being Coronary and Structural Laboratories.
