About Department The Emergency Department consists of 2 resuscitation bays, 16 cubicles, 5 fast track chairs and 15 Emergency short stay beds. In addition to this there is a behavioural assessment room, procedure and a plaster room. A triage assessment chair and a 3 chair diagnostic lounge supports patient flow into the department.

The Emergency Department has a multidisciplinary team providing patient care with Mental Health clinicians, drug and alcohol consultation and an Assessment and Liaison Early Referral team, supporting care co- ordination for the Emergency patients. About the Role The Grade 2 Registered Nurse, under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in his/her specific area. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring his/her own professional development in order to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.

Duties Manage the physical and emotional well-being of the patient Administer medication in accordance with hospital procedures, protocols and policies Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress Liaise with patient, patient's family, medical and ancillary staff as required or requested Qualifications, Skills and Experience Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA Experience as a Registered Nurse for 2 or more years Previous nursing experience in an Emergency Department Demonstrated ability to operate within a "patient centred care" framework Benefits Salary packaging Employee Assistance Program Staff Car Park Application Please attach your resume and cover letter to your application All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by The Victoria Police..
