AH-GSM manages approximately $1.2B of third party spend through an organizational structure encompassing global leverage of central led categories and regional operating teams.
About the Position – Basic Functions and Responsibilities The Specialist Procurement will lead the sourcing of direct materials in defined categories to support the business for the Boxmeer Site and across the MSD Animal Health division. The categories of activity will include but are not limited to Product Contact Materials, Primary and Secondary Packaging, Lab Supply and Medical Devices. Relationship management with suppliers and key stakeholders is important being the ‘linking pin’, towards site operational purchasing department and various cross-functional departments and the global categories.
Being a key representative for the defined categories supporting global initiatives aligned with site key stakeholders. The position will be part of the Global Supplier Management organization. The Specialist Procurement will report to the Associate Director, Direct Procurement for the Boxmeer Site.
The Specialist Procurement will take an active role in supporting category management, risk management and stakeholder management and supplier value management within the defined categories. Primary activities Site Stakeholder Engagement – understand stakeholder requirements to establish supply strategy and proactive mitigation of supply risk/issues. Be able to translate stakeholder requirements into tangible business results.
Relationship Management - work with business representatives, Legal and other stakeholders, to develop requirements. Conduct relationship management meetings with key and active suppliers. Manage supplier performance levels.
Sourcing – create and execute requests for information and requests for proposals. Ensuring all business requirements will be captured. Lead the assessment of all proposals using predefined criteria derived from the business requirements.
